The Message
"The Truth Project"

With so many lies in the world today, it is more important than ever to have a solid, biblical worldview and hold to the truth. Catch up on previous messages from our current series, The Truth Project, from our sermon player.

Note from Pastor
Dear Church Family,

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come…" 2 Timothy 3:1

The above scripture contains a promise many of us would like to overlook: Perilous times will come. Not might come, not maybe come, but will come! The word "peril" is defined as exposure to the risk of danger, so in essence, Paul is saying that our lives will be fully exposed to the risk of danger in the last days. Right now many of us are being pushed out of our comfort zones and into the danger zone. When we are fully exposed to the danger zone, fear can grip us, the devil will lie to us, but it's important to understand that God is still with us! He will not leave us nor forsake us.

This week we will be answering the question: Is it possible for the infinite, eternal Creator to dwell in the heart of an individual? I invite you to explore the truth with us this Sunday in our 9 AM or 10:30 AM services. I look forward to continuing on our Tour of Truth! Please see the announcements below for upcoming events at New Life.

Sincerely,

This Week at New Life
THIS SUNDAY: THE CALIFORNIA MELODY BOYS!
Join us for our last Heritage Concert of 2009! The California Melody Boys will delight you with powerful three-part harmonies and, most importantly, spiritual enrichment. While Southern Gospel is their preferred musical style, the group likes to mix it up from time to time. All members of CMB are musicians & songwriters, and each equally shares the motivation of singing God's good news to anyone who will listen. This concert is free, so bring your family and friends!

SHAPE: DISCOVER YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
If you want to learn more about serving in areas of the church that you are passionate about, please attend our SHAPE seminar this Sunday, October 18th, at 9 AM. Discover your unique SHAPE -- your blend of Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality & Experiences -- and how to apply this in serving. Meets in Room 131.

POWER GOES OUT...
We want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the storm on Tuesday. Due to the power outage at the Church campus, we were forced to cancel our Tuesday night programs, but were unable to contact many who are committed to coming on Tuesday nights. We were hoping for a last minute intervention, but it was to no avail. In the future we will implement a communication plan when programs or services are cancelled because of unforeseen circumstances or natural causes.

ANNUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL (CANDY NEEDED!)
New Life's Harvest Festival is set for Saturday, October 31st, from 6 PM to 9 PM. Our goal is to have 75 brown grocery bags full of candy to provide to the kids of the community! Please help us by dropping off medium-sized bags of "Fun Size" candy in the lobby throughout the month. Make sure the candy is individually wrapped and sealed. Your efforts help make this one of our biggest outreaches of the year!
